Megan McKenna and Pete Wicks sweetly clear the air for good two years on from split

Megan McKenna and ex boyfriend Pete Wicks hugged it out, as they cleared the air for once and for all during the Celebs Go Dating finale

Megan McKenna confirmed they were “good friends” following their bitter split in 2017, as the pair patched things up for good during the Celebs Go Dating finale.

Pete and Megan came face-to-face for the first time since their break-up at the start of the series, and it was slightly awkward.

But they’ve grown closer throughout the show, and the finale saw them hug it out as they put the past to bed.

Speaking during the finale in Tenerife where they were joined by their dates Tom and Poppy, the pair went off for a quiet chat and discussed how happy they both were.

Looking back on their split, Pete said: “What a random scenario this is! Here’s to our best ever holiday, how sad is that! Best holiday together and we’re not even together.”

Megan agreed: “That’s really sad! I just never thought in a million years that you and me in Tenerife, on a roof top bar, having a drink and actually talking.

“I’m so glad I joined the agency at the same time as you. Do you know what, we used to be friends.”

On their friendship, Pete added: “That’s the thing, people always used to see us as that nutty pair of lunatics who were always rowing, actually behind all that we get on.

“Listen, you’re a good girl and whoever does end up with you is a lucky geezer. I mean that.”

Megan responded: “You’re not too bad yourself. Do you know what? I look at you as one of my good friends, actually. That’s really weird because I actually do.”

Pete continued: “When we started this process we hadn’t spoken and now at the end of it I can talk to you and feel really comfortable talking to you. It’s a really nice thing.

“I think out of this whole thing what I’ve gained is a good friend. I wish you all the best.”

The two of them then hugged it out, with both of them wearing huge smiles on their faces having finally moved on.
